Judi Chan’s new work, Take Me Home,

is a collection of six pencil drawings of her cat Ringo, focusing on the cat as a sensitive and loving creature.

Chan’s special affection for Ringo, who literally wandered into her life, reverberates in every graphite stroke, with fur applied like caresses and

highlights like kisses.

Delicate and ethereal, Chan’s work brings to mind the practice of Victorian Spirit photography, where a subject’s inner self was captured as a mist of energy, as her reverence for Ringo shines through –

in a very subtle fashion.
